Wash sinks and washbasins with detergent and water. Be sure to wipe dry after use and do not allow liquids to dry on the surface. Avoid strong solutions of mineral acids and some organic acids, which can cause corrosion on the stainless steel surface. Chlorine solutions and silver polishes should also be avoided. Be sure to rinse off foods containing acids (juices, wine, mustard, salt, etc.). If stains do appear, use a soft cloth and a soft cloth and toothpaste (Colgate) to gently scrub them off. Your sink will get scratches, it's inevitable. But to minimise scratches, never use hard or sharp pointed objects on the surface. Also, do not put hot pans and pots in the oven. Scouring powder and steel wool scratch the surface but can also cause rust. Over time, the scratches will smooth out and become a natural part of the patina that forms. The shine of the stainless steel is maintained despite the scratches.
